What are your operating hours?
The Vista Room resumes service this spring on Monday, February 6, with the last day of service on Friday, May 12.
We seat lunch starting at 11:15 a.m., Monday through Friday, excluding University holidays. Seating ends at 12:30 p.m., and the dining room closes for lunch at 2:00 p.m.
How do I make a reservation?
You can make your reservation in three ways:
- Email us at email@example.com
- Call the dining room at (415) 405-4100. If it is after operating hours or if we are unable to take your call, please leave a message with your preferred reservations time, party size, name and contact information. We will return your call within one academic day.
- Stop by the Vista Room between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and make your reservation in person!
If you plan on paying for your meal by charging to a house account: please email your reservation request and include your house account number.

How do I pay?
Payment is with either a credit card or charged to your house account after you finish your meal. We accept the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, JCB and Diners Club. We do not accept American Express, checks or cash.The charge does not reference the Vista Room. We can only accept up to 3 credit cards per table. Gratuity cannot be placed on your credit card or house account. Any gratuity should be in cash, and goes to the HTM Scholarship fund.

Am I able to purchase block tickets?
The Vista Room no longer offers block tickets for purchase. Any outstanding block tickets have been converted to dining credit to be used up by the end of the fall 2015 semester. If your department had a balance of unused block tickets, you should have received a notification from the College of Business about the conversion to a dining credit. If you were not notified and believe you have a balance of block tickets, please email us.
Do you offer a frequent diner discount?
We are still determining ways to reward and recognize our most frequent diners. We offer seasonal promotions, and encourage you to like us on Facebook for announcement of events and promotions.
Is a meal $17.00?
Yes and no. We offer a $17.00 three-course prix fixe that includes all-you-can-drink select beverages. Sales tax is NOT included
However, you may now order off the menu a la carte. If you are not in the mood for a full three courses, you can order just an entrée, or just an appetizer, or whatever you want for the individual price of each item plus tax.
I want to book a large party for lunch in the Vista Room. What do I do?
Please contact the Vista Room directly for regular lunch reservations for a group of six or more people. Please call the dining room at (415) 405-4100. For parties of eleven or more, or if a private dining area is required, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and inquire about a banquet event or private dining reservation.
I am allergic to, or cannot eat, certain foods. Am I still able to dine at the Vista Room?
Most of the time, yes. We always have vegetarian options on our menu. Vegan and gluten-free options are made upon request. Please notify us in advance if you have any dietary restrictions.
We offer gluten-free options to the best of our abilities, though we are not a GFCP operation as our facilities work with wheat products. We cannot effectively accommodate persons with celiac disease or other severe gluten allergies. Known allergens on premise include milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat and soy.
How do I provide feedback on my visit to the Vista Room?
We welcome constructive criticism and feedback on the food, service, hospitality and overall experience you received during your visit. Complete a Vista Room Survey to leave feedback and comments about your experience.
I’d like to work in the Vista Room, how do I apply?
The Vista Room is a learning laboratory, and we generally do not offer non-course-related employment positions. If you are a current SFSU student, and wish to be involved with the Vista Room experience, please visit our Opportunities page.
Am I able to order alcoholic beverages at the Vista Room?
At this time, we do not offer alcoholic beverages during regular lunch service. We do allow and serve BYOB wine and beer for University-sponsored, non-student, nominee department events booked at the Vista Room.
