Master of Science in Accounting and Analytics (MSAA)

The Master of Science in Accounting and Analytics (MSAA) is a STEM-designated program that combines advanced accounting knowledge with practical data analytics skills. Students can focus on areas such as financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, taxation, ethics, and analytics. Graduates are prepared for careers in business, government, and nonprofit organizations, pursuing roles in accounting, auditing, budgeting, and data analytics.

Wherever you begin, the MSAA provides the foundation to move your career forward. 

Applicants do not need to major in accounting at the undergraduate level to qualify. The required prerequisite coursework may range from 0 to 18 units, depending on an applicant’s academic background.

Fast-track MS in Accounting and Analytics

For applicants who qualify for the fast-track path, the MSAA degree can be completed with as few as 10 courses. To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a four-year bachelor’s degree in business from an AACSB-accredited school
  • Have completed the bachelor’s degree within seven years of starting  the MSAA program

Applicants who meet these requirements will have all 700-level MSAA courses waived.

Flexible MS in Accounting and Analytics

  • Designed for working professionals seeking part-time study
  • Open to students with a four-year non-business bachelor’s degree
  • Convenient late afternoon/evening classes
  • Flexible learning modes available (online and in person classes)
  • Customize your own schedule

Estimated Program Costs (Tuition/Fees)

  • MSAA Flexible (CA resident):  $45,000
  • MSAA Flexible (non-resident of CA):  $58,000
  • MSAA Fast-Track (CA resident):  $28,000
  • MSAA Fast-Track (non-resident of CA):  $37,000

Degree Requirements

  • Attend an orientation that includes professional development workshops
  • Complete the MSAA prerequisite courses (can be waived based on your undergraduate degree)
  • Ten advanced required courses
